Computer design of the small CATV
Sedláček, Jan ; Slanina, Martin (referee) ; Říčný, Václav (advisor)
Main task of this bachelor’s thesis is to create an interactive automatic programme for designing circuits of individual or small common television aerial. The first part of this document describes main conceptions distribution of television signals, parameters of coaxial cable and also some kinds of signals distortion. There are described some important mathematics formulas used for calculation of coaxial cable attenuation and carrier to noise distance important for computing function of programme. The second part describes a procedure of designing of television cable circuit of individual or small common television aerial and includes prototypal calculation of two real circuits and its comparison with results of computer calculation by which correct function of programme is verified. A part of this document is also made by detailed description of programme and its functions. Source code of created programme is included in the end of this document.

Čížek, Petr ; Vojáček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Marada, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design and create a working electronic xylophone which could be controlled by a programmable logic controller or by an Arduino based board. The finished xylophone could be used for promotional purposes of the faculty.
Design and realization of teaching instrument
Pučegl, Pavel ; Krček, Petr (referee) ; Marada, Tomáš (advisor)
Gradual wear and growing dissatisfaction with current panels for purposes of teaching the course „Logical control and programmable controllers“ has lead the Institute of Automation and Computer Science at Brno University of Technology to a decision to establish a new educational tool „LOGIK“. The tool is intended to facilitate practical verification of knowledge gained by students during this course. Students will have access to this device and will carry out various practical projects concerning combinational and sequential circuits. The general objective of this thesis is to design and subsequently construct this educational device so that is could be fully utilized during the course in near future.
Experimental hardware musical instrument demonstrating possible means of colour sonification
Rezek, Václav ; Jirásek, Ondřej (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
The goal of this thesis was to design and build an experimental musical instrument SuperDuperRainbowThing. The experiment nature of which lies in sonification of the colour spectrum. The hardware is built using Arduino microcontroller and a single board computer Raspberry Pi. Software communicates with the hardware via a MIDI protocol and is written in Python programming language and patched in Pure Data graphical environment. The instrument creates a sound output based upon colour selected by the user in real time.
Back-bone deformation analysis using modern sensors
Fiala, Vojtěch ; Janoušek, Oto (referee) ; Čmiel, Vratislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis summarizes the knowledge of the medical and technical field related to the project. In the medical section, there are mainly described areas of kinesiology and medicine related to the causes and risk factors leading to problems and diseases of the spine. In addition to the description of the disease, there are also presented the diagnostic solutions and treatment. The content of the medical part of the thesis is also a look at some commercially available products dealing also with postural problems. Part of the technical part is acquaintance with the Arduino platform and the components that are included in the practical part of the bachelor thesis. In the technical part, the area of motion sensors such as accelerometers, IMU sensors and gyroscopes are also described in more detail. Especially there is described IMU MPU-6050, which is used in this project. Further, the thesis describes the procedure in the practical part of the project, including the design of the positioning of the sensors with the positions in which the data are measured, as well as the design of the assembly and its optimization. Subsequently, the final appearance of the device, including the method of attachment on the body, and the measurement results are shown. Results are later commented and discussed. The final part of the thesis is the final summary of the results achieved and the reflections on the possibilities of further work or further adjustments and modifications of the existing equipment.
Light and effect technics control
Nedoma, Jakub ; Frýza, Tomáš (referee) ; Fedra, Zbyněk (advisor)
The aim of my bachelor degree work was to design and manufacture a mixing console for controlling the entertainment lighting and show technics (RGB lights, fog producing, lasers etc.). This console is compatible with all kinds of digital show appliances via DMX512 protocol.
System of controlled generators of rectangular pulses
Holeksa, David ; Mišurec, Jiří (referee) ; Hanák, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design system of controlled generators of rectangular pulses, which are burdened with toroidal coils. The objective is realization of the equipment to be controlled by a microcontroller, which will bring rectangular pulses to each coil according to pre-specified parameters. The resultant generator is capable of generating current pulses having an amplitude of 0.1 to 1 A and a pulse time of 1-10 ms.
Long optical fibre routes influence on the polarizing state of light and uses it for powering polarization sensors
Panascí, Marco ; Grenar, David (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the influence of long fiber optic paths on the polarization state of light and their use for powering polarization sensors. The aim of the diploma thesis was to design the arrangement of optical fiber components so that the polarization properties of light at the end of the path are further usable for sensory purposes. Four partial measurements with a long path (in a laboratory setting, laying in the ground, on a curtain, under the influence of external influence) and one measurement without a path under the influence of external influence were designed. The overall measurement results demonstrate that for the functional power supply of long-distance sensor systems, an existing single-mode fiber can be used (laid by laying in the ground), into which a light source for a given sensor system would be multiplexed. In the discussion, all types of measurements are analyzed and compared with each other. Finally, the overall result is summarized and applications are described in which such a sensor system could be used.
Design of Multiplex Optical Fibre Link
Krejča, Libor ; Křivánek, Vítězslav (referee) ; Kyselák, Martin (advisor)
In this thesis I consider problems of optical multiplexers, optical amplifiers and designing optical networks with this components. CWDM and DWDM are the most common used multiplexers today. I describe principles of realization multiplexers from basic level to realization in WDM networks. EDFA is also common used amplifier today and I describe his internal structure and how it works. Today, we can observe many realization of optical netwoks with Raman amplifiers, especially in long haul networks. Raman amplifier is characterized in brief. In next chapter I describe the design of optical communication systems and the main designing equations are explained. Then I used the equations for example of designing optical communication system with multiplexers, EDFAs and other components, which are needed for function of the system. In last chapter I explain mathematical model of signal propagation in optical fiber called nonlinear Schrodinger equation, which includes main optical effects in fiber like chromatic dispersion or Kerr effect. The simulation model and his numeric solution was designed including PMD effect, the simulation model is programmed in MATLAB.
